Yesterday was the first time I attended a tax sale. The room was packed. Apparently some of these investors come year after year. Some one asked a question and she was told "this is not a classroom. It was a new experience. I sat quietly and observed. They started off bidding percentages and then went into premiums. That's when I got lost. I didn't understand why the premiums went higher than the taxes owed. I choose not to ask any questions after I witnessed someone being told that they were not answering any questions.

TAX SALE - Los Angeles County
August 21st, 2008 | posted by AnitarnyFor anyone interested, Los Angeles County publishes a book of properties that are up for sale in LA County for past due taxes. You can oder the book from their website (Google LA COUNTY TAX ACCESSORS OFFICE) or you can buy it from office in person I think it is around 22.00.
The actual tax sale is in February and there is a 5K deposit required to register for the sale.
Pass it on even if you are not interested, someone you know may be.
PLEASE POST LOCATION NAME IN SUBJECT FIELD
Anyone Familiar with Tax Sale Info?
August 15th, 2008 | posted by ECCInvestmentsJust curious. I'm trying to research tax sales in GA. It seems as though the owner has a year to pay the back taxes, plus 20% interest. My question now is, even though I have to hold the property for a year before I can sell, can you rent the property during that time?
Anyone have any experience with any literature available on Tax Sales? I'm going to re-read Deans section on that, but wondering on State specific info. Thanks!

Unique Situation
March 10th, 2008 | posted by jthaynesOkay, I've just gotten started with Dean's program yesterday. I feel I have a unique situation as my Husband's grandfather passed away a little over 2 years ago. He owned three lots, which were already going into defalt do to back taxes. The County now is in the process of putting it up for a tax sale. This property is already in the hands of an attorney, and it is just a matter of them getting all the paperwork together before it goes up for sale. I am now also trying to get the paperwork together to keep it so that I can sell it. I am now "racing" the attorney.
