Should typically seek to encourage the reader to take some specific action such as making a decision forwarding a reply, or correcting a problem. In many ways the closing of a letter parallels the opening. Both should be short, to the point, and specific and should be free of overused, passive phrased that do not communicate much. The call to action is critical to you mailer. It is also important to let your reader know when to take action.

It doesn’t really matter
September 30th, 2009 | posted by scarlsonYou can have a 10% response rate and still loose money o a mailing. It is not about the response or capture rate but the gross margin on a large mailing. A good mailing should return at least 3 times the expenses associate with it. It’s about Profit, not response rate.
Good response rate
September 30th, 2009 | posted by scarlsonDirect mail business says: Half of all sales letters get thrown away before they reach the prospect, another 50% of the remaining half get thrown away by the prospect without so much as a glance. Still another 50% of the remainder get discarded after having been opened and examined but not read. Of what is left only half get read and then immediately thrown away. In some cases, if you get a l% rate you are doing pretty good.
Takes more than a single mailing
September 30th, 2009 | posted by scarlsonDon’t assume a single mailing will generate the response you want. A good mail program contacts the prospect multiple times each year. Consider mailing at least quarterly if you want the prospect to recognize and respond to you mailings. Single mailings, while they can be profitable, will almost always be less profitable than a series of slightly different messages that are not merely a duplicate of the previous.

Source of info..."Flood Your Body with Oxygen" therapy for our polluted world. by Ed McCabe. Ed spent time in a New York jail for supposed tax evasion, but really for espousing oxygen use for health, before writing this book. He knows the truth and shares it in this book. His advice has saved lives by the thousands, including my husband's.

Sending Probate Letter To The Personal Representative
September 5th, 2009 | posted by John AI wanted to know who is currently buying probate properties, and is sending out letters to the Personal Representative....
Is their a generic letter out there that is solely used for the PR to accept your low offer w/o any hesitation from the point of when they read the letter the first time. Wording in the letter does make allot of difference & it will determine the decision if the PR will accept your offer or just pro-long it. The point of sending the letter is for the PR to accept the offer right away & contact you to allow for the estate to be sold at any given offer.

This is a great way to encourage the new members that haven't started working with an agent yet to get familiarized with this amazing technique. If you're still using the (25:1 Formula) with your agent share it with others here, and how it's been working for you so far....
FED won’t raise rate until 2011

Paul McCulley, managing director of PIMCO, said key short‐term interest rates will not rise "before 2011 and I'm not only forecasting that as a professional forecaster, but positioning portfolios on that proposition as well.” McCulley, who heads PIMCO's short‐term bond desk, spoke before the release of Q2 U.S. GDP data that indicated the nation's worst economic slump in more than 20 years appeared to be bottoming. U.S. GDP contracted a less‐than‐expected 1 percent in Q2, after a 6.4 percent plunge in Q1.
