Honestly! Number one, who would send money to rent a property they have never seen? It is a shame to punish a website that is offering a public service just because consumers are so naive as to fall for such a scam.
Yes I agree that these sites need to take precautions, but the fault must be put on the shoulders of the consumer as well.
It was just a reminder to all to remember this is the internet. I couldn't agree with you more about people being too naive!

I read this story and it's terrible! Sometimes it seems so simple but people can be very persuasive and we all do stupid things sometimes. We always need to be on guard and alert to these types of scams and others. Please be careful - the unfortunate thing if that most people are genuinely good people and its the few bad apples that spoil it for the rest of us. Be safe, be careful - thank you!!

You would not think anyone would send money in this situation but there are people out there that just want to trust . There are a lot of people who fall to scams all the time, just have to do your homework and be very careful in what your doing.
good reminder to stay alert; there are always people out there thinking of ways to scam people...
