So after looking for REI clubs in my area, and talking to other investors, It seems their are no active clubs. I could start one, but according to one investor people don't want to network here as they fear you will take away their deals. So my partner told me to check out the BNI or Business Network International. Also the Chamber of Commerce meetings. Point is keep looking and you will be able to meet and get information similiar to that of an REI Club. My partner said that you can even present a short speech in front of a group at the BNI meetings. This is something that I am checking into.

Tammy you can try meetup.com and see if there's anybody that has a rei group already or you can start one yourself on there.
Another suggestion, don't listen to just one investor that says nobody wants to form a group. If s/he's of a negative mindset, they will think everything they do will be encroached upon. Form your own group and let the positive people that see the true value of it join. All the negative ones that fear deal thievery wont join anyways so it doesn't matter.![Smiling Smiling](http://mail.deangraziosi.com/modules/smileys/packs/example/smile.png)
Ask everybody on your team if there's any meetings or groups for RE investors in the area. You may be surprised at what you find.
You could also post an ad on Craigslist under real estate services; looking to form real estate investors club, reply with thoughts & comments.
That should get something going for you.
Good luck Tammy!

I have a few clients that have had the same problem - there are no clubs around. Three of them decided to take matters into their own hands and formed their own meetup group through www.meetup.com. It has been slow going but they are adding members and growing. Sometimes we have to be the pioneers and pave the way. It would be worth looking into.

You have such great ideas and you are right. I was surprised by the comments by this investor for sure, but I was believing him. I should have took it with a grain of salt. Find out for myself. Thanks everyone for your input. I will check out meetup dot com. Tammy
