Alrighty gang here we go... It's official I have launched my REI career by enrolling in the Success Academy. My orientation is on Monday. Can't really say that I am afraid or scared. I know that I can do this and that there's NOTHING that will get in my way. I have the time and the steps are just that, if I take those steps that will lead to success and a much brighter future.
Here's a little about me. I am 35 years old, college educated(Go Griz!) and raised in Western Montana, currently living in Northern Idaho. I am currently engaged to a wonderful woman and I have 3 children that I love very much from a previous marriage. I have a mild form of Cerebral Palsy mostly in my lower body and have struggled healthwise all my life. I recently had an Anterior Cervical Disketomy and Fusion done. With my current job(retail management) this does not bode well for any kind of healthy outlook in the future. This is why I look forward to developing a Real Estate Investment Business that does not require a physically demand of me and can provide above and beyond the everyday necessities of life. I am about $90,000 in consumer debt and student loans, I do not own my own home and I do not have any kind of savings for my childrens future education. I do have a tiny retirement plan through my job (less than $1500). I currently net about $2000/mo from my job so as you can see things just don't add up. But that is why I am here, I am committing to a quality change. Action is the only way anything will get any better. I have studied Dean, his organization and the Real Estate industry for about one year. All his books, the Think a Little Different program and this website have been HUGE forces on my decision to commit my time and effort in Dean's Success Academy. The cost of the academy is a mere stepping stone and pales in comparison to my college education. The price didn't scare me and the commitment doesn't scare me. The time is now to move forward in life and have a larger impact on my family's future and those who are close to me.
I don't mean to tell you all of this to make you feel sorry for me or to brag(not that there's much to brag about). This is my story, who I am, I cannot change the past, only learn and become wiser from it. Dwelling on it is of no use, moveing forward in a methodical manner, utilizing that wisdom from the past and the knowledge and mentorship of those I have chosen to put around me (Thank you Success Academy!).
