This message is directed towards Dean himself so DGADMIN please take note. I would like to suggest an idea for one of Deans upcoming blogs. I know I and many other students are struggling with the fear of still actually calling a seller and offering them a low price even though we have all of the facts to back it up. I would like to see a video blog where Dean or Matt or one of the PMI coaches is recorded while making an actual real life call to a seller. I think it would open up peoples minds and give them the confidence to call sellers and not be scared. Give them a chance to see how a seasoned professional handles the situation. I know the best way for me to learn is by example.
What does the rest of the DG family think about this idea?

I think that would be great. I've seen a video of Randy Vaughn doing this. Randy, wanna share? Matt? Joe?
Great thought. Hang in the buddy, you've got the stuff.

it's funny that you would mention this, When I learned my early REI from Carlton Sheets, his videos (pre-DVD) showed him talking to random people on the phone from ads in the newspaper trying to buy homes through creative finance. It taught me a lot. Good post.

Lane what a great idea!!. It's funny you should ask that question because I am presently working on videotaping in recording some live calls. I will call today to ask about sharing this information with students. I know matt joe ,randy and many others are very good at speaking and they would make great candidates for 1 of these live calls. I am presently working on such a venture. I know many many students would benefit from such a live call real life experience. I have had students pm me an ask what to say and I have set up mock calls with students n went back and forth with questions and answers to show how to find the sellers magic buttons.IF you or others want to practice a mock call then pm me. But yes your idea is great because it would show a real live situation.

We all learn from the best, and that's an awesome idea. I'ld like to hear a live call from beginning (screening) the seller to where you call back to give them your decision to buy or not or what.

Bill,
Carlton Sheets also supplied the 'Seller information forms' to fill out while speaking with the seller to make sure you got all the info you would need to determine if it was a good deal or not, whether the seller was motivated and taught you to file the form for 'follow up'. VCR and cassette tapes. (a long time ago)
Lane,
It's a very good idea for Dean or one of the experienced investors/coaches to do. As Bill said it was very helpful and you can learn alot. Be nice to see Dean in action.

It would be interesting and helpful.
Lane,
That's a great idea! It would be good to hear live calls to feel more confient when we do ours. Thanks for making the suggestion.

I think that would be very helpful..especially if you are just starting out..I too, learn by example.. learning from the books is a wonderful way to learn...but seeing a real situation for yourself unfold, will definitely build confidence.
Great idea!!

SWEEEET !! I love that idea that would shoot our confidents so high!! lets do it.
For thou, O God, has proved us thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. Thou broughtest us into the net, thou laidst affliction upon our loins. Thou has caused men to ride over our heads, we went through fire, and through water, but thou broughtest us out into a WEALTHY PLACE. Psalms 66:10-12
Lane,
Some of the coaches do this live at the Insider's Edge 3 day training; the coach at my training asked us to bring listings of FSBO as homework, and he had a phone set up in the front of the conference room. He collected our sheets with the information and made at least 20 phone calls right there in front of us-it was great!
wishing you success,
Valerie
