OfflineTo become successful in REI or anything else in life you have to be in control of you life, if you are not in control of your life, your life is in control of you. You must plan and schedule.
You have to schedule your time for work, family, exercise, birthdays, holidays, vacations(tax deductable business trips), haircuts, family reunions, funerals, kids sports games, etc., and you will have to do the same with your REI. IF you want/need to make REI work for you, just schedule it and do it-NO EXCUSES. If not, you will have a hard time making this or anything else work out for you.
For the sake of your/and your families fianancial future, make the committment and change your whole world. You know you want more out of life and a better life for you and your family. It just takes being focused and keep striving toward your goals.
Set your goals,make them realistic,make a plan on how you're going to get there. Take 'baby steps', at least you're taking ACTION and getting closer and closer to your goals. Once you get there, you'll look back and say 'that wasn't that hard'!!
Nobody is going to do it for you.
Now, get going and make it happen. YOU CAN.
Use this site and learn, read the stories of others just like you that have struggled and never quit to get where they're at. Pick an avenue of assignment, wholesale, rehab, whatever you like and go for it.
Research properties, learn to run the numbers and see if its a deal or not.
Read journals of Rina, Carol Stinson, cbr(Matt Larson), Indiana Joe, randy428, Steve and Veronica, Michael Mangham, Trustpoint(Bill), James Kendrick, elixbrown, kareng, just to name a few, but use this info to learn and move yourself forward.

Thank you for this post. It's just the bit of a kick that I need right now. And you're absolutely right. Baby steps has been my method purely due to lack of time with my other jobs and kids, but yes scheduling and sticking to it will help. Thanks for the reminder. Every little bit helps.
