3 simple steps to tracking down owners of vacant houses and buying them.
1. You need to find out who the owner is by going to the county appraisal district where the property is .
You can search for the country appraisal by select the State under Search County Records.
2. You need to search the owner's phone number by entering the owner's name and select the skip tracing engine that you wish to search.
You should search all skip tracing engines.
3. Call them and ask them if they want to sell their house
Here are all the skip tracing engines that you can select from under Search Phone Numbers:

Anywho.com
AOL Whitepages

Intelius.com

Several times I have encountered these places not having information on the owners...so I then contacted the water company and they seem to always have home owner information on hand just in case of water pipes breaking on the property.
