I am up in Portland, OR and have bought homes at the auctions for 12 years. We even used to buy in Maricopa county years ago. Do you work for a bidders service company? I am working with a couple investors up here that have done 2 deals the past couple months down there and I am looking to do some real estate investing down there as well since I have family in Mesa. Have you driven homes very long? I think short sales are still very alive and well, especially in today's climate - they just take a lot more work than foreclosures. Anyone doing foreclosures will tell you short sales, assignments, etc. won't work because they probably tried to do them a little, had no success, and went back to buying at the courthouse steps which is easier to do (as long as you know what you are doing - I see title issues take down a lot of investors every year). It would be cool to hook up and do some deals together, or something!

We are currently finding properties for finders fee on short sales. Working our way into sandwich lease options using none of our own money.
