Great Advise
This "rule" is so applicable in every aspect of our lives-work, kids, play, sig others... It avoids DRAMA in situations that can be resolved with a calm head. In my opinion, in life there are no problems only challenges that need to be overcome. Just need a cool head to find the solution
5 second rule.....
really do need it with the studying & trying to get our first deal... Dean or anyone reading this note, is there any student that lives here in Orlando, Fl. would love to get together & meet them. We are planning a get together in my home this week-end, 8/24/13, with Deans students from BOG. They are also having trouble. At least with each others support or someone that lives here in Orlando, can give us a boost & can share stories & ways of getting our first deal done. We need the support, even tough we have support from the coaches or hot lines', we feel live is better than an over the phone conversation.... DEAN, WE NEED YOU OR A STUDENT...THANKS, MUCH BLESSINGS TO ALL !!!!!!! CONTACT: fmrrealestateinvest@****
wow
IE for 99 bucks a month? Awesome.

Great message Dean
You are my favorite counselor. It is all about solutions and getting results one way or another. There is always more than one way to get things done. You are such a good Dad.
Incredible
Incredible. Thank you Dean and team!
5 Second Rule
I am going to use this on my girls, thank you for sharing this! My husband and I were both referring others to get on dg.com just this past week at different times.. I thank you for sharing all of your weekly wisdom's it really helps!
Hello
Dean, good message this week. I wish I would've heard it while my children were a little younger, but I can also use the advice for coming generations. I am a part of the IE and I will make an appointment with my coach just as soon as I make a deal because I'm so far behind on bills it's eminent for me to make a deal. I was making offers and then my agent began to ask for cash earnest deposits before my offers got accepted and she then began to ask for bank statements to prove to her and century 21 that I actually had funds enough to cover cash purchases. So I think I have to go back to square one and get another agent and not mention that I am a wholesaler. I just learned not to mention that from one of Matt's videos.
Anyway thanks for posting another great WW.
-Angel.
5 seconds .. of life.
5 seconds, holds a very renowned message, it applies to so much in our lives. you inspired my friend and I too do a first deal. It was under 10,000, (but) we sunk about 26,000 more into it. the pain is not the beginning startup cost. it was the fact that that renter didn't pay and forced us into court at a loss of over 4,000 in rent lost etc. It want stop us but it hurts. I do hope that your inspiration never stops, and perhaps one day we can partake more diligently in the DG family.
Sincerely.. James Michael
P.S Dear DG family, you are all truly inspiring. Thank you.
5 Second Rule
Thanks Dean! Needed the reminder to focus on solutions rather than compound the problem by making it bigger than it really is. This is the first time I've posted anything; really just getting started with being actively involved in learning real estate investing. My wife and I joined the Insider's Financial family last February, but other things (job/location) kept me from being very active. I took your's and Matt's advice after watching the 52 minute video you did together and joined Insider Elite three days ago. Have lots to do and learn, but with all the information and support I believe it's all going to work out great!
Hope
That was a great wake up message for me Dean! Things have been really hard around here and to be honest I was freaking out down hill...
Thanks for remind me to have hope!
The 5 second rule, gosh I love it!!!!
I agree with you Dean regarding getting really anxious/upset/meltdowntime! We all do it and at all ages.
Stepping back, taking time to talk it out and yes being "solutions oriented" is the name of the game.
I'm working on my first deal. I've got the house, working with the REA, calculating my numbers and getting ready to present it to a buyer. I'm thinking solutions all the way.
Isn't this what investing is all about? Providing solutions for people. Have a wonderful week and thank you for sharing your wisdom!!!!!!!
5 SECONDS!!!!!, OH YEAH!!!!!
This is what investing is all about, being "solutions oriented".
Thank you for sharing your wisdom. We all need to be reminded that learning is an ongoing process and we can get so involved we forget to step back and BREATHE!
To Dean and everyone on the site; have a wonderful week!
5 second rule
Thank you, Dean. I will be using this rule myself. Things do go wrong and I do get on the OMG side of things. But will try a different approach. Looking forward to getting my second deal!
Much love.
Janice and I are new, about 3months in now,
We started 1st read books, ordered the 2013 insiders edge home study course. This also entitled us to deans help line, next we attended a seminar, then a three day training, studying everthing we could get our hands on and implementing what we could, now trying insider elite. Our first coaching session is tomorrow. We are now professional real estate investors, realtors and brokers are helping us. Giving us what we ask for and providing what they think will help.
We are very close to our first deal.
As dean says its not a sprint its a marathon. Also have learned, each 1 thing you do each day brings you one step closer to your next deal. I suggest either plan. But utilize and do what is taught do not just read and learn as that is part of it. But if you only learn and do not implement or practice what you are learning nothing will happen.

Also deans customer service I am sure will explain the diferences between both options.
every weekly wisdom I watch improves me.
I find every weekly wisdom I watch improves me. Not allways just as a professional investor. But many times inspiring and teaching me to be a better human being.
I was also one that did not vote for Obama. And still do not like the direction he is leading us in. But I will support our United States and the decisions made by the majority by.not finding and promoting all the programs I disagree with. But by looking for and promoting his objectives that I do agree with.
5 second rule
Hi Dean,
Thank you so much for sharing your 5 second rule. It totally make sense. Sometimes we tend to look at the downsides to a situation instead of finding a solution. Will be using that 5 second rule in not just my business but everday life situations.
yup 5 second
Slap me? Try, try, try I know keep moving forward. Got so busy I saw half of this yesterday and again today. Solution, Got to keep going. Thanks
5 sec rule
I love solutions!! My problem has been I've been focusing on the problem so hard trying to solve it, I'm really not concentrating my energy on the solution as I should. Focusing on problems is energy draining too!
Thanks for the reminder Dean. Awesome blog this week.
Problem and Solutions
Thanks again Dean for the great Video. I every once in a while fall into this trap, but when i think about it deeply a solution always comes up,for that problem, its our God given Conscience a protector for us against our short comings. Charles
5 Sec Rule
Hi Dean,
You are so right about stepping back to find a solution, when you are confronted with something that upsets you.
I just had such a situation happen to me on my FB page. For the last two days I have been in a emotional crisis with someone on FB. The solution I came up with, was to delete this person from my page. I promise you that I won't let my past determine my future.
I will make another appointment with Kim on Insider Elite.
Mimi
Weekly Wisdom Thanks
Hey Dean thanks for the Weekly Wisdom's
They are always positive, and insightful you are so right take 5 seconds and move on (smile)
Thanks again Ray.
Good advice Dean
When it seem like a deal is gone wrong or it looks like an endless situation. Instead of accepting what has happen we have to find another way to solve the problem for that situation. Thanks for the good advice Dean.
5 second rule- changing my way of reacting
Growing up when you drop food or candy on the floor, if you hurried and picked it up within 5 seconds it was still good to eat.
Well, this new mindset changes from reacting to acting on. Instead of the hurry up and try to rectify the mishap, its stand back and think before you react. That food or candy can be replaced. It may be that you didn't need to be eating it in the first place!
Dean you are great and I am so glad I became a member!
Great Weekly Wisdom
Hey Dean,
Just waking up to your powerful message--"How can I? plus "Lesson learned" Plus "Mindset".
This was a great message that reminded me to get my butt back on track.

Weekly Wisdom 5 minute rule
Hey Dean - Thanks so much !! This is an "awesome exercise to use". Thanks for being sooooo inspiring & transparent !!! Your weekly wisdom for me is so uplifting & practical !!! Like taking a refreshing breath of air, it keeps my real estate creativity mind soaring !!!
You are absolutely, positively "great", at what you do helping us DG'ers !!
So grateful to you !!!! THANKS !!!!
Thank you .....
Dean for everything that you do to inspire us to wake up and follow up on our dreams and to focus on solutions not problems. Also on your message you said for your students to post pictures of their deals. I think that with those pictures they should also include STEPS of how they acquired those deals, how they financed, how they contacted the customer.
This is just a suggestion.
Thank you.
God Bless you and your family.
Re: weekly wisdom #250
Thank you Dean,
I always learn something when I watch one of your weekly wisdom video's.
I sincerely thank you again and they are so up lifting for my day. Its like having an energy drink when I watch you.

3 questions
Dean, your 5 second rule is so right on. It reminds me of a child psychologist that told me (I raised three boys)...when they have their meltdown or make wrong choices, after they cool down ask them 3 questions:
WHAT DID YOU DO?
WHAT SHOULD YOU HAVE DONE?
WHAT WILL YOU DO NEXT TIME?
If you are consistent, with time, they will stop themselves and it helps them make better choices. It will make a difference when they are with their friends and they need to make a better choice as they grow older..
But beware, it can come back to bite you....a mom was driving with her son in the car and someone cut in front of her. She was yelling at the other driver and being upset. Her son then asked her the three questions....point taken.
5 Minute Wisdom
The wisdom of the 5 minute rule is this. If we faCE a problem, we can stay focused on it. we experience pain, frustration, inflammation and all sort of negative emotions which will wear us down. No good.
It isn't either to have a Plan B because we can still be having a lingering problem pinning us down. We have and I mean HAVE to forget the problem and focus on the solution. Kill your problems and be a solutions person. Easier said than done. But it is worthwhile to try to overcome our dammed negative habits OF ALWAYS HAVING AN EXCUSE not to be successful. Move on and don't look back.
