I am in the process of planning out my goals for 2013. I have alot to get done by the end of the year.
Thank you for the reminder to set goals for the new year and a more productive year for 2013.
I am praying for all the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary and their families.

I have been working on my goals an have must thank you for your extra step. It does help me each day to look in my wallet, and on my phone to see the who. I do have to try harder because I am getting really tired of having the "and if I don't" feelings. I know that it s only me that keeps me where I am and I just have to dust myself off and start over. I have stumbled a bit in the last two weeks and am back on the horse. Ready to charge into the new year.

Just take it a step at a time and follow the path ! You can have notes in front of you for those first calls so you will know what to say. I remember being afraid of so many things at first that I don't even think about now--anyone can do this if they have the desire and I can tell that you DO !

LOVE the "how will you feel"----both when your goals happen and also if you do not reach them ! Very motivating and very real ! I almost forgot about the send me away contest--we really should enter this year, but it is so hard for us to make that video ! Maybe we could hire someone to help us !? Thanks Dean for the weekly motivation ! Oh, btw, closed on another wholesale deal this week !!

God called twenty baby Angels home to paradise. They are with Jesus now.

Scripture tells us "lean not to thine own understanding but in all thy ways acknowledge the Lord thy God". We can not know the why for everything as it would be to much to handle so we have to take it to the Lord in prayer. We must intercede for those classmates and the parents and all directly effected by the tragedy. I myself was immobilized by this event as I sat down with my breakfast and morning coffee ready to check e-mail and get on with the day. I sat here watching it unfold and listening to the reports. I think I actually became numb which is a part of grieving and dealing with something like this. In church on Sunday morning I had a some moments of intense feelings and reality of what the children and others felt and experienced and I could feel the pain of it. It is gut wrenching.

It is not right that these things happen and unfortunately they do. I believe there are many factors which make it harder to deal with. The young man that did this had issues for sure and his mother was aware of them. She even told a former babysitter not to turn his back on the boy for a minute. With that said, my ? is why would she have those guns in his reach and teach him how to use them? It is contradictory in my mind. Also she was very controlling and God only knows how many pharmaceuticals had been pumped into her son. I trust that she only wanted the best for her son. How can we possibly control people like that? Stepping up regulations on guns is one thing and could help but that is only part of it. What about all the violence in games and movies and being able to watch the wars around the world on television as they are happening? If I had youngsters in the home these days those things would be off limits with some real conversations explaining why they are off limits. Much like the surviving children who were told to close their eyes as they were led out of the mess. They did not need to see or know what was there in their midst. There are some things that the children and even us as adults do not need to know. Answer their questions and instruct them on a need to know basis to educate and protect them. We need to live in peace and create those environments of peace. We must have hope and faith to see us thru and trust that God will keep us in HIS care. Economy is another factor. It was disclosed that the mother of the shooter was concerned for the future due to the economy and that aside from liking to target shoot she wanted to be prepared for future problems that may occur. As difficult as it may be we need to take care of the economy in our own house and focus on what we can do as individuals. We can not live with a sense of entitlement. We must be givers not takers. Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. scripture says the branches need to be pruned to bare more fruit. Also what we do unto others we do unto the Lord. God be with us - In God we trust.

Dr Phil says we need to talk about it and be age specific. He says don't overshare information. Be there to hug and cuddle and comfort. Little ones before the age of 6 don't understand the concept of death.

This morning I received an e-mail that I want to share here in hopes it will help and bring comfort.

This e-mail included a picture of Jesus with little children.

twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38

when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.

their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.

they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.

they were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.

they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.

"where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.

"this is heaven." declared a small boy. "we're spending Christmas at God's house."

when what to their wondering eyes did appear,

but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.

He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.

then He opened His arms and He called them by name.

and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring

those children all flew into the arms of their King

and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,

one small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.

and as if He could read all the questions she had

He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of mom and dad."

then He looked down on earth, the world far below

He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe

then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,

"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"

"may this country be delivered from the hands of fools"

"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"

then He and the children stood up without a sound.

"come now my children, let me show you around."

excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.

all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.

and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,

"in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

Thanks, Dean, for the reminders in your weekly wisdom. It keeps us on track and motivates us to get through the week. I find that it's important to continually update our goals so thanks for the reminders.

Thanks for the WW as I've not had much of a chance to work on deals lately as one of my workers gave me a 1 hour notice of quitting and doing most of the work myself. Getting done with one house for a rental and have one to work on now. The goal setting is what I needed for as I want this year to be the best ever and I know it will be with the support of the DG Family.
Thanks for the webcast and the book can't wait to put mine together.

I have just experienced an AH HA moment. Thanks to you, Dean, and your persistence, your desire to help others. I have come to realize this week, after watching your conversation with Joe Polish, that I am keeping myself from success simply by thinking that I would be taking advantage of someone by buying houses cheap and making a profit from it. Now I understand that I did not cause their bad news, but like the mortuary, bad news to someone else is good news to them. They didn't have anything to do with the death, but they can help them through their bad news. Likewise, when someone has bad news about their house, I can bring them good news and help them turn it around, at the same time help all the people that depend on me. Thanks, you made my day, and 2013 is my year.

Another great Blog as always Dean. I have to agree with you though. Why wait until January 1st to set new goals. Goals are those things you should have had in place a long long time ago, and January 1st is that proverbial starting date that I think we all wait for to get a fresh start. My goal for the incoming year of 2013 can be summed up in one word. ( Success ) Success over last years failures.

My goal for 2012 was to get into one of your programs, I almost made it. I got a prepaid credit card and when I was expecting to see the payments taken of the credit card nothing had been taken off the card I designated just for your courses ad I got money to pay for them.

I was disappointing but I got a check for doing the presentational election November (and went back up north to help my parents with a rental) that is enough for the starter course I got. Today I went to the bank and the computers are down. So I am going to call the bank tomorrow to see if my check was posted and if it has been then I will call the CSRS and give them my card over the phone for the starter course Nat offered me. I was told the reason they would not take my pre paid credit card was because they cold not refund the money. But Dean I do not want a refund I want to get in to real estate investing asap. I don't want to miss the wave and I am concerned I may have already missed it. But God is good and can redeem anything.

Once I get back into the program I will call the coach and have then work with me on realistic goals and get me moving.

By the way I found a real estate agent and she is going to introduce me to some investors to help get me started. Maybe the investor will be willing to invest in me and sponcer me in some of your classes. If I can call in before the 31 I will have made a small goal but it is a beginning.

I watch so many of these videos and read your books, etc. I see so many wonderful things talked about and all kinds of strategies and concepts. The problem is HOW DO I make them happen. Where do I go to; or WHO do I talk to, to do this or that? Your books talk about things to do, but they don't SHOW you HOW to do them!

I am intelligent. I can usually do something after I have seen it done.
But just talking about HOW WONDEFUL it is doesn't show me what I need to know!
I don’t know how to work with a vague concept.
I need to see the ins and outs of it; the nuts and bolts, transistors and resistors .

My respond is way past due. The holidays were great but when my phone service and internet went down it took over a week to get the phone company out to fix my service. I was frustrated with them putting me off and with the holidays, i just couldn't focus or reorganized my notes or kept up with all of my lessons and I fell behind on my mentoring lessons. I'm praying in 2013 that if i still have mentoring for my classes I will be more aggressive in my due diligence and step out of my comfort zone and not let THINGS get to me. Thanks for all of your videos and encouragement.

I'm sure you get thousands of requests like this all the time, but I really need help. Life is getting in the way of my success and I'm not sure how to work around it. I

I've had to move in with my parents because my mom fell and broke her hip and shoulder. THEN a week later my dad fell and broke his hip! They've had surgery, rehab, etc. but now they need constant help at home.

Do you have any suggestions/activities to help me stay in the game but don't involve a lot of time away from my parents?

By the way, I'm a retired English teacher and would be willing to get involved in proofreading/writing/editing any of your blogs, etc. (I desperately need to earn money while I'm staying with my parents.)

It really helps to have extra
reasons as to why we're doing
this and when we can get clarity
despite all the mess going on
in the world it really helps.

I'm working on scripting out the
goals/dates/why/who/feelings
and it really does help to get
it scripted out so we can see
clearly where we want to go.
