Shake it off

I'm not usually a blogger (especially when I'm supposed to be working) but I figured I'd write a little something. Maybe it will help someone out there.

These past few days have been a bit rough. I am new to investing and the DG system. I have be extremely motivated and doing everything that was taught about building a buyers/sellers list. I've posted on craiglist, interviewed a couple agents, contacted banks about REO's etc.

I have set a goal to make my first deal in 30 days. I'm almost to week 3 with no success. These past weeks have been full of emotional ups and downs. At one point I was so excited to get a list of REO's but then I hit a low when I couldn't find an investor to hand it off to. To make matters worst, the agent I thought would be helpful was anything but.

Another high was when I got a hit from my craigslist ad, but they just turned out to be spammers. I even responded to others ad's and asked if they provide a bird bog fee. Once again they were just spammers.

I began to get to the point that when I saw my phone blink with an email notification I got super excited to check my email, only to find out Facebook was letting me know that one of my "friends" are inviting me somewhere I was never going to go or posting something I cared nothing about.

This was really started to get under my skin and I started to feel discourage. I was starting to feel the pressure of the goal I had set for myself and the possibility of not reaching it. I take myself a bit seriously and failure to me was not an option. I was feeling mentally and physically tired.

I then realized that I needed to take a step back for a second. For 2 days (well really 1 1/4) I told myself I wasn't going to look up anything RE related, call any banks, etc. I needed to refocus, and regroup. I got back to reading my bible and just breathing. You'd be surprised at how different your breathing is when you're stressed.

Today, I am starting anew. I feel a lot better and ready to continue pushing for success. I am not just doing this for myself but also for my family. I'm not going to let the many obstacles that WILL get in my way stop me from achieving my goals.

I just wanted to share this because I wanted to let anyone out there know that its ok to step back for a second and regroup. To be successful you need to have focus. Take whatever time you need to regain your composure and confidence. Shake it off and then get back out there.

I hope this helps someone as its helped me just sharing it.
