we have posted our bandit signs for the weekend and yesterday already in the morning I got a message from someone threatening a fine.
I thought we bypassed the sign police by putting them up friday night. Are there any other suggestions to help prevent the sign police from taking our signs and calling us with the threat of being fined?
All the investors I talked to here say that the best lead source is from those signs. So I am at a loss. Are there better places where you dont get hit? Or should we pack it up and try something else? I would hate to lose a good lead source.
Any suggestions would help, and yes I post ads on line.

All areas are not created equal. There are, as you have seen, areas that are extra vigilant in policing them. In that case it's better to put your efforts into other forms of marketing such as online ads, calling landlords who have rentals advertised want asking them if they are interested in another rental, or placing an ad in a weekly newspaper or using magnitic car signs. While bandits signs are affective, so are other means of marketing. Use multiple marketing strategies and be persistent! Remember, if you not marketing, you're not in business.

we do have a car decal but have only gotten one phone call from it. I think we will change what it says. We have not done any newspaper ads due to the cost but I think its time we tried. Thank you again.

strict sign ordinances you have to advertise in the newspaper. I have very strict sign ordinances in my town so I feel you. Try putting the signs at off ramps and on ramps. Most counties own that little area and very rarely do they have a code enforcer out looking for signs.
This is a great way to meet people, what i do is if your looking to build a buyers list advertising a 3/2 I will approach a homeowner on a busy intersection and ask them if i could put this sign in their yard just for the weekend and tell them you need to sell your house. Also i would get Wawa gift cards and offer this to them for them helping out. Try it you will also get alot of extra calls from word of mouth from the owners.

I asked my previous landlord if I could put up signs where I used to live. It is a small farm, and I put the sign away from the house, near the farm entrance, so people wouldn't bother the new tenants.
I have asked other homeowners, haven't put the signs out yet, but did offer to give them a small bird dog fee for any deals from that sign. I offerred $100 for any deals I do. That was fine with them and gave them incentive to help find me prospects.
