Facebook is a great marketing forum, and is especially successful at contacting a large group of people in a time efficient manner. Just one word of caution; remember that everything you and/or others put on your page is a reflection on your business. Make sure that everything on there puts you in the light you want others to see you in. Also, just like with any other type of marketing, try and keep track of what type of success you are getting from it, and determine if it’s worth it.

If you're looking to expand into social media like twitter or facebook, that's just ducky, and time well spent! However, please post a direct link to your website on both medias, which will hopefully force people to email you through your website.

Facebook and twitter can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Sometimes people post private message inadvertently as "public", a la Anthony Weiner. (Remember Weinergate this time last year? Stupid putz.)

Another prob is people can hack into your private messages, sent and received. You've always got to make sure you're signed out of your accounts, etc.

Tweeting is fun and quick and easy. Please just keep private messages to a minimum - direct them to email you through your website. Lots of nuts out there!

How does someone hack into your private chat or messages? Is it because they get your password. Not savvy on this, and I am on FB, but I have learned a lot just reading and asking things on our group of investors.
I don't put much on there, and have unsubscribed to some friends if they swear or talk in appropriately. I take them off for awhile, because I don't want to be associated with that kind of language. But it is easier to chat or just go on to a group and ask questions.
Still scarey at times

I definitely recommend that you have a facebook and twitter for real estate! These are great tools to connect with other investors and opens doors to get more deals done!
