My name is Davien and I'm completely new to the real estate thing.
I got involved by seeing an infomercial at like 2am from Dean Graziosi about a seminar in Milwaukee, WI on April 6, 2013. I'm severly in debt with a wife and 4 children (one of who is mine biologically) and said "ok I'll check it out because I've really got nothing to lose, since I literally didn't have anything".

I attended the seminar and signed up for the 3day workshop on a very generous payment plan April 12-14th. However, my wife and I used the very last dime we had to our name in order to make the down payment. I have the only income coming in to the house because my wife had to quit her job after our daughter was born in 2010 with an illness. We couldn't afford a daycare with the type of attention she needed. I have no room to spend $130 on an LLC. But we felt as though, if we didn't do anything, how would things change in our life. After the workshop I started learning more by reading Dean's books and reading articles on this site.
So 5 weeks from that date, I haven't acquired any property but, I have a friend who is a realtor and has access to MLS. My wife constantly asks me "Are you sure we made the right decision?" I keep reassuring her, that I'll do whatever I need to, to make it happen. I haven't had much time to work on real esate because I work full time from 10am-6pm and my wife was in school for her master's in english. So she would hardly ever be home when I got off. And I would have to take care of the house and have a few hours (I would usually work until 1am on real estate) until I went to sleep.
A few days ago I've gotten my first calls from and ad i put on craigslist about selling property. One call is a guy who is a new investor with only 10K. The other is an older couple with a limit of 20K to spend.
The couple also has access to MLS so they are looking for properties else where.
So now my journey has a bit of direction, but with little to work with from the buyers and no properties acquired.
This is the story of a father/husband trying to break his cycle of poverty.

Still working with what I have. Trying to make the ads as clever and thought provoking as possible.
Still looking to find the properties between 5k - 20k for the 2 investors that contacted me. Not an easy thing to find.
But I will continue.

Was having a very hard time trying to find the low budget property to fit the couple's criteria. Kept things honest with them, and told them I couldn't find them any property that they would get a decent return or any return at all from. The couple gave me a better budget to work with. All the way to 80K. It feels like success is knocking. If anyone wants to jump in with some tips, I'm all ears. I think I just got a great second chance at finding my first deal.
