I first became interested in real estate when I was a kid because my father bought us a lot out in the sticks where the only road was a dirt road and no neighbors for a mile. Anyhow the lot next to us was bought and the owner said he was going to hold onto it to make some cash. He is still holding onto it after 20 some years LOL. That is when I first got the idea that land was worth something and everyone will always need land. I sort of understood that you could buy and sell it for profit. Too bad I didn't understand anything else at that point and high school, then the military took over my life. My interests changed after getting out the military to aerospace and engineering until I arrived where I am at today, Spokane Washington. I got Dean's course but couldn't get the book - I'm working on that one. I am working on rebuilding my credit and making multiple contacts with people in the local area to build my team and mentors.
P.S. I'll keep my progress up to date.

I've been writing in what I thought was my journal and it may have been another place? Better make some entries before my journal disappears!
Last night my wife and I went out on our first triple date with her best friend and her friend, husbands too. My feelings were one of intimidation, fear, and being scared from lack of control. I took action by going to dinner with my wife. Then followed through with the dinner and coffee. The results were I avoided feeling the need for control by focusing on my wife, her friends, and the other husbands. Why am I saying anything? You might have already figured out that this situation is no different than any real estate investment transaction. One major exception is what I learned...Taking action didn't kill me or harm me in any way. Following through didn't cause any problems and I learned a lot about my wife's friends and their husbands likes, dislikes, work, hobbies; listening is a golden tool! The results were a wealth of information that I can use in our next meeting and I can speak to them using their language and make them feel comfortable and myself as well. Every bit of this is applicable to each deal we work on in the field. So, I will use what I have learned about myself through this experience and adapt it to serve me on my REI career. It is amazing what one can learn, WOW! What an epiphany and that I actually learned something from this recent experience about myself. How weird.
