Just stopped in to start my Journal. My family has been in the RE business for a number of years on the East Coast of the US. I myself am now in the Southwest (NM) starting out with Dean's 30 Days to Real Estate Cash.
I've already read through the whole book and now I am starting out on Week 1. I have an account here at DG now and am starting this Journal. I have a list of offices to call in the Albuquerque area to locate an agent. I will be hitting up my local AAA office for a map of ABQ later this week so I can locate the hot spots and areas of further development.
After reading so many success journals, I believe this works. I also have an LLC setup here in NM that I haven't actually used for anything so I may work the RE business into it.

Still moving forward...
I picked up local maps for Santa Fe as well as Albuquerque from my local AAA office yesterday. I also put a call in with a local realtor friend to see if she will look up cash sales data for me. If I don't hear from her over the weekend I'll touch base with her in the beginning of the week.
I still need to call some offices in ABQ to locate an agent willing to work with me. Lastly, I have a family friend in CA that has been investing in real estate for some years now and will be a good contact for looking over deals & mentorship as well as possibly being a founding member of my cash buyers list.
Do any of you have any sample Craigslist Ads that I could take a look at?

I am still working on finding an agent here in NM but in the mean time I have a friend who is an agent back east that is doing some ground work for me... finding houses that have sold in the last 60-90 days for cash plus buyer name/address. I know he is busy so it may be a day or two before I get any information.
While he is doing that, I will be scripting the letter that I'll be sending out to those cash buyers.
