An Invitation to attend a Toastmasters meetings from Greg Harmon was one of the best things I accepted. Toastmasters is great place to learn skills that improve your ability to confidently speak in front of and to other people by any means.
If you attend a meeting your first impression will likely be that Toastmasters is mainly about getting over your fears and speak in public, but if you look a little deeper you'll soon realize that fear of speaking in front of people can be conquered in a few weeks. That fear will change from a very nervous and anxious feeling to an overwhelmingly exciting accomplishment every time you get to speak in front of the group.
Many other benefits come from just attending meetings and watching the flow of the agenda as the meeting progresses. This presents a chance to learn how to become more organized in other aspects of life, such as investing.
From my own personal experience of 2 years in toastmasters I have learned many things about myself and I how communicate to others. I have improved greatly in theses ares:
1. Speech Speed. I used to speak entirely to fast and add way more details than necessary to get my point across
2. Train of thought. Whenever I talk to someone about investing and how to get started I would go in way to many directions and get of track.
3. Vocal Variety. Your tone of voice when talking to someone will set the mood for the entire conversation.
4. Business Etiquette. I'm a Blue Collar guy so I'm naturally rough around the edges. When getting into REI your going to come across many professionals and toastmasters is the perfect location to build and practice skills to communicate best with white collar people.
Check out their website and see what clubs are around you its free to attend meetings as a guest. The annual membership is very low, typically less than $100 per year and training materials are included with new membership.

Im very much interested in this group toastmaster, i would love to brush up on my communication skills especially speaking in front of a group of people, getting my point across in a simple and understandable way. i like all the things they offer i try looking them up but their weren't any classes in my state: do they do online class? also im not sure if that would even be benifical.
