Is a Real Estate Agent/Investor better than one who doesn't invest

I'm currently on the hunt for a great real estate agent to make money with. I just thought about a guy who bought a car from me who is making a killing(I've seen his tax return). He is a Agent/Investor. The only issue I have is that he introduced me to his mortgage broker, who is now my mortgage broker and he knows that I have bad credit. I don't know if thats a mental issue that I have or something that may have him hesitant to work with me now as an investor. I called a couple Offices today looking for an agent. I found one who didn't sound that savvy. The guy I'm referring to is definitely a specialist. How can I partner with him.

Also, should I become a Real Estate agent myself at some point? I've thought about it before because I've always been in sales, but now that I'm investing, its on my mind.

Hello Deshone!

I think as long as the agent understands the strategies you want to use and how to "work them", it doesn't matter if they also invest or not.

I've been in real estate since 2002, and when I first got married I sold a townhouse that could have easily been my first rental property (having a young family - I didn't want to take time away from them to be a landlord). In hindsight... I should have kept it no doubt! In 5 yrs the FMV went from $85K to $130K! I'm kicking myself all the time for that one. But now I found Dean's system and that will soon be ancient history.

Best of luck to you and I'm sure you will find an agent to work with you and get you on your way! Take care.

Thanks Nadine

That's awesome, great to see you're not letting your past dictate your future, but you're still charging ahead. I look forward to connecting with that real estate agent. I guess I just have to find someone that's hungry. God bless!

Hi Deshone

Dont worry - you will find the right team members to work with. It can take alot of no's before you get there - but remember each no just keeps getting you closer. And as far as your credit - like Nadine said, when someone sees what different strategies you intend to use, and your determination and drive that really shouldnt matter. There are a ton of people on here with bad credit who are turning great deals by assignment, private money, etc. So keep your confidence high and keep moving forward! All the best to you Smiling
