Confused but ready for change

Confused but ready for change

I'm very interested in RE I've obtained a RE license a few years ago and then this book a few months ago. I've been trying to find a way to make income on my own time so I can stay home with my 4 months old daughter but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have suggestions for this business? My husband and my self both have poor credit and we work dead end jobs, we're just looking for a way out. Any suggestions will help.

First, welcome to the DG site and the DG family of RE investors! Its a wonderful place for support and motivation. You have a great set of tools in your hands already - your RE license and Deans book. (I suggest all three on your shelf as your encyclopedias) Smiling Your question is so broad it really cant be answered other than to say start reading! Read your book, read the forums and journals on this site. Decide what strategy will work for you to get started - and then get focused. Every person on this site has studied hard and worked hard to find the 'niche' that works for them. Some find it right away, some take months. But if you want it bad enough you will make it work! Start studying your target market where you live - post craigs lists ads to begin to build your buyers and sellers lists....etc etc. The information you need is all here for you to become a smart, successful investor!

Persistence

Never, ever give up! Just keep going, you'll get there. And yes, start reading and TAKE ACTION !!

You can do it!

Anyone can succeed in real estate. Yes, just like Laura said, it may take time, and it all depends on what work you do and what contacts you make. The key is to get out there and see what's available, and start working in to the system, no matter how small of steps you need to take. I personally started taking smoke breaks at work (I don't smoke) to make calls to a couple of agents. It got me in the game, and now I've been coaching and investing over 12 years now. But we all start in the same place....the beginning. Just take the first step and see where it takes you!
