I have a disability called Cerebral Palsy and need advice on working on the internet.

My name is Suzanne and I have always been interested in real estate. My only obstacle is that I was born with a disability called Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is a condition that is the result of lack of oxygen to a certain part of the brain usually during birth. There are different severities of Cerebral Palsy but fortunately the only part of my brain that was damaged was my motor skills, balance and a little of my speech. The damage to my motor skills causes me to move slowly with jerky movement instead of quick and smoothly. The damage also causes my muscles to have constant tightness and my balance to be unsteady which makes it difficult to stand up without assistance. I also have difficulty doing simple tasks with my hands, for instance gripping a zipper to zip up my pants. My speech was affected but I am blessed because I can speak clear enough that most people do not have a problem understanding me after they get familiar the way I pronounce my words. I pronounce words different and slower than other people do. It is like someone that has a strong accent and it takes a little while to get use to. Despite the obstacles in my life, I feel fortunate because I have had a good life and my condition could have been much worse.

I would like to know if there is anything in real estate that I can get into that I can do over the internet from my home and not have to talk to people over the phone or in person. I don’t have to make a whole lot but I’m planning on getting married and we could use a second income. Any advise or guidance that you can give me would be very much appreciate. Thank you

Suzie, my suggestion is that you and your significant other become a team. In that way, you could do the computer processing part and your husband, the out of the house communication. Another suggestion is that you follow him occasionally to gain the experience of this business. You have what it takes, life and a voice. I know you will make good use of both. 1st of all welcome to the DG website & family. I had an aunt that had CP,
so I'm aware of some of your obstacles. The great thing is that so much of the
work can be done over the internet; such as searching for buyers & sellers, & building your lists; after locating properties, researching the info on them,
like purchased amount, mortgaged amount, taxes, comps, etc.
The great thing is some people are better at behind the scenes work, & fueling someone that can meet with people & communicate offers/terms on deals.
An excellent idea is to set up a partnership where each member makes the other shine.
You could do a service by feeding potential RE deals to other investors &
collecting bird-dog/assignments fees. Good Luck & if you need any assistance
