can you be an agent and an investor?

i was just wondering if its a good idea to be an investor and a real estate agent at the same time? i ask because a local real estate agency is hiring and i went for an interview and now im just waiting to hear back from them. but i didnt know if being an agent would complicate anything as far as being an investor also.
