Let’s start right out by saying that you normally get what you pay for. All of the hype you’ll read from Internet marketing gurus can lead you to believe that all you have to do is “build it and they will come” when it comes to a website. Sorry, but a recent estimate found that there are around 650 million websites, and that those have more than 4 billion pages/articles. Those numbers don’t really tell us the whole story, as Facebook is just one website, but it has a whole lot of information for billions of users.
The point is that you should build a simple blog-based website, and you can do it free. What you shouldn’t do is count on getting much traffic at all. They’re not going to come just because it’s there. So, why build it then? You should build it and fill it with relevant content about what you do and how you can help home sellers, buyers and investors. What you shouldn’t do is wait around for the visitors to arrive.
PPC, Pay-Per-Click, marketing is not free, but you definitely get what you pay for. Let’s use an example of a distressed homeowner in Houston, TX. In fact, PPC is probably the most targeted and effective traffic and lead generation activity you can do on the Web. Let’s run through the basics that will help you to understand why you can get real buyers, sellers, and investors to your website with PPC, and they will be good leads.
• No Click-No Pay: With PPC, particularly on Google, you don’t pay unless the person who sees your advertisement clicks and actually arrives at your website.
• You Control Spending: You set your daily or monthly budget, and you set how much you’re willing to pay for each click. Your ads will simply stop running when you hit your budget limits.
• You Decide on Search Terms: You decide specifically what terms, keywords and phrases the searcher must type into the search to get your ad displayed.
Let’s look at an example. You are in Longmont, CO, and you are building a buyer list of cash investors and you’re gathering motivated seller leads to find deal opportunities. You can create articles on your totally free WordPress.com website with titles that match these popular search terms with a local focus:
• Longmont co homes for rent
• Longmont co investment properties
• Avoid foreclosure in Longmont co
• I buy houses for cash in Longmont co
• Rent to own in Longmont co
• Can’t sell your home in Longmont co – I’ll buy it
• Longmont co real estate investors
• Buy Longmont co rental homes
• Buy a Longmont co home with no down payment
• Buy a Longmont co home with bad credit
You’re getting the point. Will there be thousands of people searching the Web every day with these specific phrases? No way! However, even if there’s only five or six a day, by focusing your content on specific phrases, you can get only the most focused searchers to your site. Remember that you don’t pay if they don’t click, so having dozens of these very specific search ads out there will be very cost effective and will bring you leads. It’s called Google AdWords, so check it out.

Another great piece of advice, great to know to a new comer. I am thinking of building my buyers list and sellers list the old fashion way. As I start getting a gust of wind I will move on to the bigger and more advanced building blocks. Thanks dean
