title companies

ARe title companies still letting assigning of contracts go through? I suppose this is just going to depend on the title company, but I heard they are getting away from this. I also read that it is better, oh yes, read this from Matt, that he just goes through the attorney to close, so how do I get the title company then to give clear title, or does the attorney do that? So just wondering about all this?

Just did an assignment had no problems with the title co i used to close the deal. But yes you can use an attorney who will handle it for you. Just make sure you are transparent with both ends(buyer/seller). No tricks no problems Smiling

Why a Title company

When you buy or sell using a Real Estate Contract you should always close through a title company. The title company will make sure that there are no liens on the property and find out if the person selling the property is actually the owner. Next, I would always recommend using an escrow agent. The fees to the escrow agent are very minimal and they make sure that both parties are abiding by the terms of the contract.
