Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines AND Coast Guard. Thank you all, everyone!
Coast Guard is often overlooked, but it is the oldest branch of the service and has served in all the foreign wars. My dad was CG, and at 17 yrs old was aboard a Destroyer Escort in the Atlantic & Med. Sea. My dad is now 85, and today is very special to him as he remembers 31 shipmates who were killed May 3, 1944.
To all who serve today; God bless & protect you and bring you safely home.
Those who kill time murder opportunity.

"To get up each morning with the Resolve To Be Happy is to set our own conditions to the events of the day. To do this is to condition circumstances instead of being conditioned by them." Ralph Waldo Emerson
In Memoriam of those who have sacrificed their own lives for our wonderful country. Also I am remembering those who have lost a love one while in service of our country. May we have peace and love and always support each other. We are all called to serve even in the simplest capacity. Those of us not in the military can still reach out to support those serving and help the loved ones they have left at home to do so. Just a smile and kind words and acknowledgement of the person in service is a start.
May God Bless and Keep all of us in HIS care while we honor those who now rest in peace. My own Father is among those resting in peace. He served as a foot soldier in WWII under General Patton.
