The following is a recap from my local Real Estate Investing Group (REIG) and I thought it was worth repeating. This was done by two of the group local full-time investors that have been in the group for over 7 years and continue to attend local meetings.
The topic was how to take advantage and what are the benefits of belonging to a local REIG?
- attend every month
- builds credibility
- associate with "like-minded" people
- networking
- create momentum
- CPA / attorney referrals
- realtor referral (more than a 1/3 of their deals come from realtors)
- inspector referrals
- contractor referrals
- access to real estate tools
- create a mastermind group
- private $
- finding partners (complementary skills)
- wholesalers contacts
- cash buyers
- bird doggers
- the leader of the group is usually a great resource
- group web site
These are just a few of the many benefits of belonging to your local REIG.

Hey, im pretty sure this has been answered many times before, but when seeking local groups (like say me in Brooklyn NY), what would be pointers in looking for local groups?

There is an REI Clubs / Groups section on this site. Look on the left side under "Main Sections"
