Interesting Article

It is true, because of FHA's low down payment requirements, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of loans have been written and insured through FHA. This explains why all FHA loans beginning June, 2013 will permanently carry mortgage insurance regardless of the equity position. FHA is trying to offset their risk portfolio by reducing market appeal.
