Often as people start investing in an area they are not sure what to look for in an area.
Information to look for that will help you in your investing would be:
What is the average cost of a home in your area?
What is the average rental costs in your area?
What is the average time an average property would take to sell in your area?
How much new construction and development has been and is occurring in your area?
You may also want to find some of the demographics of your area.

ALL that info will fluctuate with time. Just because you found the answers to those questions 3 months ago doesn't mean they hold true today. You must constantly be researching your area.
Really good stuff to be ALWAYS considering nstreet. Thanks.

Something I do to look for new areas to potentially buy in is to watch what retail stores, malls, Home Depot's, Walmart's are developing in new areas. I know for a fact that these types of businesses do a ton of research on upcoming building before they start construction. So if you see one of these types of stores going up out in the middle of nowhere, and away from humanity, either do one thing..... Get investing in that area because it is going to be booming pretty soon, or just sit there and watch everyone take advantage of the market research that these companies did and watch other investors / buyers take advantage of the chance.
Happy Investing!
