I bought the book, read it, got excited, have done some searcing on properties both in and out of state. I actually took the step before to e-mail and even call to try to get some information on a couple of properties - but got no response at all on those.
FEAR began to take over. I read once that fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real and I believe that to be true! I began to feel that maybe this won't work since I couldn't even gather information.
There was one particular property that was a big BINGO all the way across the board. It was about 4 hours away and I had planned for several weeks to go take a look and try to contact the owner face to face since I could nto find any phone info. anywhere.
WELL I DID IT! I finally drove up, found the property and waited until I thought someone would be home. I was scared to death but knew I HAD to do this since I drove all this way - to make it a little shorter - I drove over and talked to the owner - THAT WAS MY BIGGEST HURDLE TO GET OVER but I did it.
No, things don't look as if they will work out at this point - but information was exchanged, etc.
THE MAIN POINT IS THIS: It was a big step that was taken and I proved to myself that I can do it despite the fear.
Do NOT let fear (look again at the acrostic above) paralyze you.
I look forward to posting a note on my first actual deal before too long.
Thanks for allowing to share my excitement!

You took that first step and you can only go UP from there. The confidence will come just be patient but read as many of the post in the forum that you can and grow your knowledge base. We are here to help and talk to so feel free to let go.

Your excitement will get others fired up about real estate, too! Thanks for sharing, and believe me, when you get going you won't lose that excitement! It just keeps growing with each new deal! One of the GREAT things about this business is that no two deals are alike, there's something new to learn with each one! The way you told your story gave ME butterflies,'cause I know how you felt. But you used your nerves to your advantage and MADE yourself do it. You can be proud!
Congrats,
Rina
