Some question whether or not to get a real estate license.
There are pros and cons to this. I would like to list a few.
Pros:
- You get access to the MLS
- You can do your own comps
- You are able to get contacts with other Realtors and Investor easily.
- You get the commissions.
Cons:
- Some people do not like Realtors
- If you go to a property for yourself you have to note you are a Realtor.
- You are more liable and held to a higher standard

This is a career I have been pondering for a while.
I had actully taken the Licensing Class (for Massachussetts) Twice in probably a 7 yr span, but, I had never gone for the testing. (I was too busy procrastinating!)
I do want to obtain my License, because, for me, atleast, I feel the Pro's outweigh the Con's and of course will help me along with my ultimate career and goal---REI.

For many this can be a great way to get started into investing. I like not having a license myself. You can also partner with someone that has a license or will get a license and when a property needs to be seen you can see it and never need to tell the seller you a Realtor. You partner, who is the Realtor, can put together the offers and comparables.
