My grandfather had rental property in our hometown in Florida. He wasn't rich, but lived a very comfortable life. One of my maternal great-uncles once owned a stretch of Seagrove beach. So, I guess the idea of real estate investing was planted in my mind years ago...and is just now taking root. I'm now a few short years away from retirement and have nothing to retire on. Not a very shiney future for me unless I do something different.
I am a two-time cancer survivor...thank you, Lord...I'm STILL STANDING. Lots of medical bills as well as credit card debt. And, for that reason, I'm starting my real estate venture wholesaling. I want to wholesale in the Houston area, and also the Florida panhandle, and maybe the Florida Keys.
My goal is to be debt free and financially independant. I know it will take time and energy and hard work. I ain't afraid of work. I'm praying this will be a new beginning for me.
