have you signed an agreement? Normally a management agreement will allow you to terminate it and will include the terms for cancellation.
If it is not spelled out in the agreement you have a very poor management agreement and should try to amend it. If you cannot amend it, you may be bound to it for the term of it.

What terms or conditions do you have in your agreement with the current management that would give you a reason to fire them? What part of the agreement didn't they follow?
When does the agreement expire?
What did you do to establish / put in place the current management?
When we fired our property manager, we sent a letter to the property management company that we no longer needed them and stated the reason why.
We sent a letter to the tenant stating that effective that all future rents, comments, questions, and concerns are to be sent to and that the previous management is no longer in the picture.
I know that some investors here invest in Indiana, perhaps if you provide the city, they may be able to jump in a recommend a new property manager.
