We can all get off on the wrong path when we attempt to take shortcuts by just sending out ads and bombarding the general public with every piece of information we can give. This route will only lead to a dead end for a couple of reasons.
1- Most of us don’t have the marketing resources like some major real estate companies or grocery chains at our disposal. It is important to target your audience and really put those marketing dollars to work for you.
2- The prospective client is already slammed by mass marketing messages. You need to make sure that you are not adding to the mass marketing mess by customizing a message for a specific group of perspective clients.
The biggest mistake is that we create ads without a clear idea of the individual we are attempting to contact and wanting to contact us. Due to this, we are using all the wrong ideas, and not spending the time necessary to locate the correct group we are trying to influence. Do your homework. Don’t waste time, energy and money. Focus on the clientele you are wanting to work with, and then make the ad match the client. Don’t try and make your client match your ad. That is an effort in futility and ultimate frustration.

Great post Cory. Couldn't agree more. We need to know who it is we are trying to reach in our marketing. Obviously, once we find the right market we should share the right message for that market. Great info Cory. Thanks
