Don't Stop Progressing

Don't Stop Progressing

You have heard before that you never want to give up. You can be inches away from crossing the success threshold.

Once you have gained success do not stop progressing forward. The grass may seem to be greener on the other side or in another way...but if you have something that is working keep with it.

Take it from me. I stopped my residential real estate investing to explore commercial almost entirely. Later, I decided to go back to residential because, frankly I made more money. I am now finding that I have to start all my contacts again. I have to build upon financing, lenders, closers and others. Some of the contracts I had moved on, laws changed, and attitudes and shifted. I am now at a point moving back into real estate.

Imagine that you a train traveling a line. At first you move very slowly, little by little, inch by inch. Eventually, you get some great speed. If you stop you start inch by inch, slowly all again. True you are further down the track but the process has begun again. Keep your speed and do what works.

Matt talks about this a lot. Its funny as well I never expected to see my contacts change. Really, I had great relations with some of them and... poof. I was out of the loop with them dealing with commercial for about 8 months and that was all.

Nathan

I feel the pain. Jeremy and I have been MIA for just 2 months and all the players have changed. We have been out not by choice, but for making a stupid mistake on a deal, that being said, I know the pain getting back in...Jan

Thanks Nathan

for a great post and for sharing your experience.

Lea

I totally agree

Nathan,
It is true what you are saying. I had a star real estate agent that I did business with and I referred a dozen people to him. Between myself and my referrals, he had the best year that he ever had. He retired the next year, and I was left to start over. Same thing in banking, you have a preferred lender (Countrywide), and before you know it they are gobbled up and policies are totally changed. But this is where the fun is, if we can win no matter what is thrown at us, then we are truly better because of it.
