So I thought I signed up with Dean's Success Academy but today I received a receipt in the mail from PMI. Please tell me this is the same thing; same coaches?
On top of that, my orientation was set for today and 1:20pm (central time) and something happened where my meeting got lost or erased. I had to call their number and try to figure out why I couldn't get ahold of the coach. Furthermore, I didn't know the coach's last name or extension... fortunately, it all was figured out and I have the orientation tomorrow, but with a different coach.
For enrolling in this program last thursday and waiting this long nervously with fear, this was sure a bad start to it all.
However you signed up, so apply yourself at this point. Tunnel vision. You need to obtain what you set out to do by signing up. Call them all the time with questions, what to do next, whatever, do as they say. Whole heartedly!!!! No half steppin. Turn the tv off, keep negativity away. Focus. And get started as soon as all is in place with them.Remember you signed to get the know how, so get it and apply it A.S.A.P.
Take it one day at a time. There will be hicups as with anything...but take it one day at a time and keep moving forward. If you have questions or problems definitely call the coaches, call the coaches!!!
Hi RwH-
Good decision. You are going to have to be in charge. You have the experts and you have the courses, but it is not magic. If you get frustrated because you are not feeling you get enough direction or consistency, it's up to you to call up that Advisory Line and Get What You Need. Then you MUST implement what the advisors say. It's definately not a hand-holding situation. They assume you will be independently motivated and seek help when you need it. Make a plan. Take a course or two every day at a particular time you have set aside on your schedule. Take notes. Write down the action items and do them, even if you don't think they matter. It's an accumulative process. It will get you where you want to go. And be sure to join an REI club for networking. Call daily if you need direction or clarification - you don't have to wait for scheduled sessions! Personally, I liked talking with whatever advisor answered the phone because each has a different take on the issues and you benefit from the variety.
Keep us posted on your progress

I am feeling about the same as anyone else would be feeling. Any words of wisdom or incouragement. To help me feel better about joining and not as nervous.
This is probably the best decision you've ever made! The program has changed our lives and the lives of so many others. Best of luck to you.
