OfflineLast night I spoke to someone at the Success Academy about joining. I have been burned in the past with a totally different coaching program. By no means do I believe the Success Academy is a scam or anything, but what I really want to know, is it worth it?
I have done as much research as I could find on the DG blogs on the subject, but I didn't find anything that helped with my decision to join or not. There was a lot of post that were for it, but nothing that I could find that gave details of how it helped (or didn't), but more of they do a great job and it's nice to have a mentor available to answer your questions.
I bought the EDGE course (haven't started it yet) and I am not sure if I should focus on that or if I should go with mentoring in addition to the EDGE.
I saw some blogs by members who joined the Success Academy the first of the year and am wondering if the mentoring has helped you close deals and ultimately make the money you wanted to make? I know some people are more agressive than others, but let's just say you did everything they instructed. Did it work out like they said it would or were you confused and not sure what to do? How long did it take to do your first deal?
Really what I want are details. I am highly motivated and think about investing more than I should. I am a Real Estate agent in MD and WV and see good deals often.
I have completed 2 fix and flips about 3-4 years ago, but the techniques in Dean's books are far from what I did. I went with the more well known routes of Conv. mortgages, HELOC's and Credit Cards.
Any help or clarity would be greatly appreciated.

All the support and help you will need is here. Dean tells us that his books will not magically sprout money etc. The bigger question is (with all due respect)are you ready to work for it. If you follow the steps in Dean's books, listen to the coaches and follow their direction, you will be successful as well. The stories on this site are real and you can be posting your own success stories if your willing to go for it.
The online trining coarses and the coaches are completely worth the money. I think that it's a big help having a real person to talk to. The website is great, don't get me wrong, but having a live person there answering your questions and to tell you the next move to make is comforting. You know that doubt that's in the back of your head making you second guess yourself, having the coaches there takes that away. Not only that, I may be wrong, but I think after 5 deals or so you get a refund. So, if you've decided that REI is for you then what do you have to lose? Go for it and live the dream. It's hard to ride the fence in this business you gotta be all in. If you work hard and treat people far, it'll all come back around. Hope that answered some of your questions. I've asked the same questions and seem to get the same answers. No one has been willing to give anything other than the same vague responses.
It's understandable that the books don't sprout money. However, I would like one of the students to answer the same thing you asked in your post: "if the mentoring has helped you close deals and ultimately make the money you wanted to make"
Maybe someday we'll get the answer so that we can make an informed decision.

I thought I was alone out there.
I am absolutely ready to work for it, that is one of the reasons I am considering the Success Academy and also bought the EDGE. I just want to be sure that I get what I need to succeed.
Addressing receiving a refund after 5 deals. That is awesome, I am just asking for members who have joined to confirm they got the training they needed to make that refund a reality. And any other informative material they would like to share.

If you join the success academy its up to you most of the time to call in to the coaches. Tell them what you have going on and they will guide you in what to do next. There is an interactive session that you have to follow that will get you started and give you step by step instructions on what to do. The important thing to remember is yes, some can do it the next day while others it make take a little time. I'm one of the ones that it takes some time but I do grasp what I learn quickly. Some of it is fear but I'm overcoming that. I have followed the instructions and suggestions and things are starting to come together finally and I have 3 small deals in the pipeline. Nothing has closed yet and I have my fingers crossed. Keep learning and you'll find something that you can use and run with.

You are not alone, sometines it is slow to get and answers but don't let that discourage you.
We just go The Edge dvds and they are excellent. we also joined the Success Team I will let you know how it goes. I really feel great about our decision.
