Not Sure Where To Begin

Hi Tina,

The best way to start in any new venture is to make sure your organized. You need to work out any kinks you may already have. So when you're devoting your time to real estate, other things aren't distracting you. People underestimate how vital being organized is to their success.

Then I would start reading the journals on the site. Since they're a "step by step" guide by people who are already involved with real estate.

"This is what they do? I need to be doing it too!" type thing.

How about getting your credit back in shape?, you need to know what affects credit and how it affects you, try to start paying those CREDIT CARD bills ON-TIME and @ the same time that will bring your overall DEBT TO INCOME RATIO DOWN(which is GOOD), this is a BIG one, actually, do you have a copy of your credit report?, cause that way i can go over in detail what you need to do

There is a website which I use once a year, www.annualcreditreport.com. This website will give you access to all three credit report, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. You can pull 1 free report from each credit agency, once a year. I would suggest always taking advantage of that to look over your reports. The information they provide is manually placed on your account. Meaning mistakes happen all the time. Get on the website, pull up your report, look it over and on the same website you can dispute any false information. and the credit report will reflect it within 30 days. Also, if you have any negative marks over 7 years old (excluding bankruptcy, foreclosures) by law, they have to be removed. But they are not removed unless you request it.

Someone just told me about this and I am in the process of getting my report. I have a report that is a couple of months old. I was able to monitor my credit thru a company called true credit .com and there are somethings I need to dispute. But is there somewhere I can find a template letter to write to dispute those items.

I recently received a copy of my Experian credit report. The credit
report showed a credit inquiry by your company that I do not recall
authorizing. I understand that you shouldn't be allowed to put an
inquiry on my file unless I have authorized it. Please have this
inquiry removed from my credit file because it is making it very
difficult for me to acquire credit.

We are excited to get started, but don't know where or how to begin. We have reasons why we would like to make this a success for us. However; we feel it is impossible. We both have had a past life that has been unsucessful and has resulted in bad credit. We both have cleaned up our credit and there has been a big improvement with both of our credit scores. My husband's credit is good and mine is good; except I have one negative account and that is an IRS tax lien. I want very much to take care of this; however; not able to pay the total debt. I would like to try D. Graziosi's real estate investing. We currently own a home, but because of this negativity we feel that this is impossible to even dream of success.

you dont even have to go through all that!, all you need to do is call each of the bureau's and speak with a live person and give them the account # which is located @ the left side of the report(if it's transunion) and by calling them, it's much faster than sending a letter or you can do it on-line, again, each of the bureaus has their own web site and even has a drop down screen with a dispute button, it dosen't get any easier than this! In thinking about the credit report and other thing I didn't know, I wonder what ELSE I don't know. If you don't know the information I'm thinking I don't even know the questions to ask. The book is very inclusive of strategies but how do you move past the "fear factor" and be sure you have covered all the bases?
Does anyone have experiences that may not be covered in the book?

Welcome to the DG family there are alot of people in the same situation and i'm one of them. You have to start with baby steps first. I started with my credit. Someone told me about WWW.Creditjusticeservices.com and you disput all your late payments and your score will go up.I just mailed 42 envelopes today.You can quilify for a FHA laon at a 530 or higher, you might want to check on that.Find someone in your area that deals with reo,forclosure,ect. Also you can try www.reonetwork.com and put your state in and it will give you a list of Brokers, real estate agents,ect.Start making phone calls.On the home page there is "the most asked questions" DGadim has links at the bottom of there comment use those, thats all i did read,read,raed. Good luck and i hope you very succesful.

The credit bureau just removed 4 items from my report. I went on line as Sully suggested and within 30 days every item I was disputing was deleted. I have a few more items to work on but I am on my way to financial freedom!
