I am also from Canada, living in Kingston, Ontario but originally from Saskatchewan.

if you check out the column on the lfet side of the site there is a tab called investor groups. There are two or three at least for Canadians investing in the US which can be helpful in dealing with the uniquely Canadian aspects to investing in the U.S.
