I'm an average guy living in a small NC town. I've always had a desire to be my own boss and successfully ran my own home-based business for while. Unfortunately, even though I enjoyed workinig FROM home, I didn't enjoy working IN home. The constant stress of getting off work to come home for more didn't appeal to me. I wanted a businesss that woul allow me to work both inside and out while challenging me to be better. That's when real estate came in to the picture.

Over the past few years, I've tried educating myself on the art of real estate. To date, I've read numerous books, bought programs and watched every tv show associated with the craft. Some have given my a lot of good information. The problem was that the advice and programs that I had access to eventually lost their worth. The techniques were becoming useless in the declining market, leaving me with no motivation to get started.

During the course of my "studies", I ran on one of Dean's informercials. It's going to be repetitive, but he seem the most realistic of any RE guru out there. I enjoyed the informercial very much but didn't take any action to buy the book. By this point I had (in my mind) wasted enough money on real estate products. It took about a year for me to break down and buy "Be a Real Estate Millionaire" and his "Right Now" book. That was last year. The material lit that fire in me to pursue Real Estate again, but I still had reservations.

I felt I had the knowledge but not the tools. I read that money and credit were not needed, but I'd read that before in other programs. It's been past evxperience that there was red tape involved in that "no money, no credit" myth. That being the case, I decided to keep working my job in insurance, save my money and use it as ammo to jump in to real estate. To my misfortune, I became a product of the economy. January of 2009, I was let go from my job. On top of that, my unemployment was being put on hold due to the unusual reason for me job loss. I was forced over time to move back in to my original home, sign my car over to my father and place holds or closes on my credit cards. It's been a year since I've worked, and I'm at the bottem of my rope. I now have no job, BAD credit, no assets and no money.

My last purchase has been Dean's "Your Town, Your Real Estate Profits!" book. I now have his last 3 books and have yet to take action. In my plan to put some extra money in the bank to get started, I ended up placing myself in a worse situation. Last month (January 2010), I decided to make a change. Tomorrow is February 8, 2010. I've made the decision to join Dean's Success Academy. I admit that this is an act of desperation. I have no choice but to take action. I still look at it as a positive. Sometimes it takes moments like this for people to realize their true potential. I turn 30 at the end of February. Hopefully, with dedication, I life can really begin.
