Foreclosure 'Rescue' Scams on the Rise

Fraudulent foreclosure “rescue” professionals use half-truths and outright lies to sell services that promise relief to homeowners in distress. According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, the latest foreclosure rescue scam to exploit financially strapped homeowners pitches forensic mortgage loan audits.

Does that seem like a long time to be in PRE foreclosure?? Some properties on FAL have pre-foreclosure start dates of June 2009. Does this mean the owner is in the HAMP program, or something else is going on?

What's the best Pre-foreclosure timeperiod in which to target a seller? 3 months?

I joined up with Deans Academy last year and have been using the PropTrend Software. Since it was update a month ago, all the features that made it easy to use are gone. I can no longer type in a city and pull up the Pre-foreclosures. It seems that with the update, most of the features have been taken away. I think this is terrible for the amount of money that I paid for it that it is now basically useless.

I'm very new to the whole real estate investing world but I plan on hitting the ground running. I just signed up for FAS but I'm not sure who i should contact when i find a good lead on there. should i contact the property owner or the attorney listed?

Has anyone used 4closurealert.com Website to help close deal or close deal at all? I have both AFF and FAL..I was wondering if any one has used both to close deal..they both give very good info and I just don't know where to start..

I'm new to the site, just read Be a Real Estate Millionaire and in the process of reading Profit From Real Estate Right Now. I want to get started and thought I might give foreclosures a try first so I've been looking around at the different programs to find foreclosures online. Dean's seem to have the best deals but I've noticed 2 different programs, the Automated Foreclosure Finder, and Foreclosure Alert, I've read on both of them but I'm still a bit confused, has anyone used either of these and can tell me which one I should go with without spending money that doesn't need to be spent?

It seems foreclosureAlert does not have any data for my county. I can not figure this out. it lists pre-foreclosures and foreclosures as 0 and tells me there are no results when I execute the search on my selected county.

what am I doing wrong?

I select the state, I select the county from the drop down (it says 0 and 0 in the drop down) and then select the city and hit search, returns no results.

There are literally thousands of properties in the surrounding counties... why doesn't it have any for the one I want?

Can anyone who has used the Foreclosure Alert System tell me how accurate the information is? I'm currently using Prop Stream to locate properties. Anyone familiar with this software? It seems like every service has errors. However, I would like to know if the FAS works better or not?

When I bought The "Profit From Real Estate Right Now" book along with the entire package, along with it was a booklet for Foreclosurealert.com. In that booklet, was a registration key. I tried using it and it told me that it's invalid.

Can anyone help me out with this?
