re auctions and sheriffs sales

I have gone to two sheriff sales and been trying to build a buyers list but no real estate investors have been really going to these probably cuzz the county wants way to much for the properties. Ive gone up to people and asked if they were an investor and they say no and really just are interested in purchasing one property at hte auction. Does anyone have any advice.
