Can anyone tell me why a broker would not be registered to do HUD Homes? Isn't it more business, or do they find it too tedious and not enough profits? Just curious as to why every broker would not be registered to turn in HUD bids/contracts! Thanks!

Hi Tammy - I've put in a number of HUD offers over the years, and yes, came across the same issue where many agents weren't registered. I think it's just a bit more paperwork and that's it. When I told the agent I was working with about a HUD home, she went ahead and registered and it was only a few days. So at least I think the process is pretty quick!

I was just wondering. My agent has his broker put it in, who is registered. If you go to the HUD site it will tell you the register brokers in your area, but I was wondering why a broker wouldn't be registered. Just wondering? Guess an agent would probably know, maybe???

It is that certain brokers do this for other companies. Just like contracting some of the work out, you have certain brokers handle this aspect of putting in offers. Not sure if HUD requires a fee, which would also make this more of a shared expense for the brokers as well.
