Wet Basement?

Wet Basement?

90% of all homes I inspect have some sort of water issue. When water is entering the basement or crawlspace there are a few things you can do to eliminate this water intrusion.
• Control water coming off the roof. Make any necessary repairs and additions to gutters and downspouts.
• Control surface water around the house. Establish a positive slope down away from the house and from basement window wells and stairwells. Use swales and catch basins if necessary.
Patch obvious flaws-
• Patching poured concrete foundation walls from the inside is a possibility. With concrete block foundation walls, repairs have to be undertaken from the outside.
An Interior drainage system-
• A drainage system around the perimeter may be appropriate if the exterior perimeter drainage tile is clogged or missing.
A good contractor can help you to determine the best method to fix and repair as per situation.
