The 4 seasons

Autumn, as we sometimes call it fall. A time when we realize a change has to happen. Shakespeare wrote “Now is the winter of our discontent, made glorious summer by this sun of York…” a comment suggesting changes. We struggle through life unhappily. We look for a better way of existing. We choose REI as a means to that end. Anthony Robbins draws on the fact that eventually the pain of the condition/situation becomes so great that it inspires you to change.

Along comes winter. A time of confusion, fear, and doubt. You know nothing about REI but you see it as a way to achieve that better life. Can I do this? It seems so easy. All my friends think it’s a waist. If that’s the case they’ve tried it and are experts at it. NOT!! As you will soon see. It’s noit a waist. You are gripped by fear and doubt. Think of it as melting snow as spring approaches. You learn more about it devouring every bit of information you can get. Knowledge will help clear some of those fears, doubts and confusion . Your fear and doubts gives way and you become skilled in the field of REI. Winter is fading. Spring approaches.

Confidence builds. The air is filled with excitement each passing day. In his book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey list habit #5, Seek first to understand, then to be understood. All of a sudden you begin walking taller, self-assured . People start asking why. You explain to them what is happening, which by the way opens the door to a conversation on your business and REI. Further increasing your growth.

And before you know it, you’re a success, a winner. Spring has sprung. Nice things start to happen in unexpected ways . You’re now a “business”. Naysayer no longer hold sway over you. In command of your own destiny. That condition/situation that held so much pressure on you seems so trivial now.

Summer brings with it a heat wave. Things are blazing hot as REI explodes. Comfortable in the life you just re-created. The naysayers are proven wrong (again)as you give back to the ones that stuck by your side during the hibernation of winter. Congratulations!

Pass the lemonade as we enjoy the summer together.
